Tata IPL 2022 Preview : Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals were the the first team to win the IPL in 2008 which was the inaugural season, Shane Warne led Rajasthan Royals won the trophy after being ranked one in points table. Sohail Tanveer of Rajasthan Royals won the purple cap for taking most wickets in the season. They were dominating throughout the season and then won the final against Chennai Super Kings. But since then they have been not able to win the trophy. Last year they were not even able to qualify for playoffs in captaincy of Sanju Samson.

They have got a very good team this year which they got in auction. Before the auction they had retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler And young Indian batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal. They have bought big players like Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, In form Prasidh Krishna, devdutt padikkal in auction, they have a really good team and were really smart in the auction. 


Sanju Samson lead Rajasthan Royals have really good squad and have a really good bowling lineup and have got two really fabulous Indian spinners, they also have got really good quick bowlers In the squad. They are having really good squad on paper and have a team to qualify for playoffs, the problem that they did in auction is that they have bought Devdutt padikkal because they already had Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal as first choice openers, will they play Jos Buttler in middle order?  It will be interesting to see.

They really have good squad, Good spinners, good quick bowlers but problem is their batting lineup who will play where because they have too many batsman to play they already had two first choice openers in name of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal but still they picked Devdutt Padikkal, and still it will be difficult to found their middle order line up.

As I told earlier it will be very difficult to find out their batting lineup, Riyan Parag And Jimmy Neesham will be playing as 5th bowlers. Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmayer, Jimmy Neesham, Trent boult will be their 4 overseas player.

Sanju Samson : after being appointed Captain last year of Rajasthan Royals Sanju Samson has become responsible and has been consistent in batting which he was failed to do in previous seasons. He was the highest scorer of the team last year, his captaincy had some flaws he used to come under pressure in crunch situation he would have taken some experience from last season and will come with new plans for captaincy. He is likely to bat at No 3 and franchise will be hoping to see him scoring lot of runs.

Yuzvendra Chahal : arguably it can be said Yuzvendra Chahal is the best spinner in the history of the IPL or he will become in next 2 or 3 years. He had represented two franchises before being part of Rajasthan royals, he was part of Mumbai Indians in 2013 and then he joined Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014 and was tremendous with them, he got his fame there, after performing there he got a chance to play for India. Rajasthan will be hoping from him to do same what he did for Royal Challengers Bangalore and will be hoping to take as many wickets as possible.

Yashasvi Jaiswal : the young Indian uncapped classic left hand batsman was retained by Rajasthan royals before the auction, he was retained by the franchise for 4cr. He was really looking good In last season and was looking promising for future for the team so Rajasthan royals retained him they will be expecting him to score lot of runs with bat this season.  The biggest problem with him is that will he be in playing X1 that is the question because Rajasthan already have Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal as their opening pair but in my team he will be opening with Dev and Jos Buttler will bat in middle order. I am hoping lots of runs from him if he make it to the playing X1.


Rajasthan Royals have a team which can reach playoff but still they need to be In form in ground to win the matches.

 Lucknow Super Giants is the news team in the IPL, it was bought by rpsg Rajiv Goenka Group for a whopping 7000cr. They had option to choose Any of the Lucknow or Ahmadabad based franchise, they chosed Lucknow as their company work has been based in Uttar Pradesh.
