Tata IPL 2022 Preview : Sunrisers Hyderabad

 Sunrisers Hyderabad have one the tournament once in 2016 In captaincy of David Warner, where they won against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a see saw battle in final in Bangalore,  it was a nail biting match where Hyderabad won in last over. They had also reached finals in 2018 where they lost against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai where Kane Williamson was the captain of the team.

They didn't have good last season, they finished bottom of table and were slap in the news for controversies, they removed David Warner as captain and also removed him from the playing X1, it was a shocking descion, the captain which led them to win their only Championship in 2016 was removed from the captaincy. 

Kane Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to go in the playoffs, they had retained Kane Williamson, Abdul Samad and Umran Mallik before the Mega Auction.  They had average Auction, they didn't bid for Any of the marquee players and that was really shocking, they overpaid for Nicholas Pooran, he got more than what he deserved, they got back Abhishek Sharma, T Natrajan, Priyam Garg, Bhuvneshwar Kumar from auctions. They have brought big match winners from auctions in name of Washington Sundar, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran from the auction.

They have got a very good team , but still they could have got some more good buys in auction. They could have bought Shreyas Iyer or Ishan Kishan as Indian capped batsman which lacks in their team. They have got really good set of fast bowlers, they have got Umran Mallik, Kartik Tyagi, T Natrjan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Sean Abbott and Marco Jansen. In previous seasons Rashid Khan was their spinner with he is missing their spin attack looks very weak. They have Washington Sundar, Shreyas Gopal, as their spin bowlers which look very weak.

They have Gun overseas batsman, this team batting lineup has really powerful but after No 6 it lacks power hitting as batsman are not such six hitters, they have total of 8 bowling option which gives the team balance.

KaneWilliamson : he was retained by the franchise and was made the permanent captain of the team last year in place if David Warner, he led Hyderabad in 2018 in absence of David Warner and he led the team well and helped to reach finals but unfortunately they lost to Chennai Super Kings which were making their comeback after ban of 2 years. He has been injury prone from last few months and have not played any professional cricket since 4 months and will be playing in tournament after 4 months. He didn't had good season with bat last season, his strike rate has always been in talk but still has played many match winning knocks for the team. He is likely to play at 3 this season, he will look to score runs for himself and help team to reach the playoffs.

Abdul Samad : he is one of the Indian uncapped player to be retained before the Mega Auction, he impressed everyone with his power hitting ability against any quality bowler, the problem is that he is too inconsistent the weakness which he needs to solve as soon as possible, franchise retained him for 4cr, he will look to finish game for Hyderabad. Since second leg of IPL he had played in domestic circuit for Jammu Kashmir and their also he impressed everyone with his hitting ability in Vijay Hazare trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, he will look to continue his form from where he left for his domestic team.

Umran Mallik : he was also retained by the franchise, he is also uncapped Indian player and plays for Jammu Kashmir, last year he was net bowler of Sunrisers Hyderabad, then when he T Natrajan got injured he replaced him in squad and he had played the game directly, he impressed everyone with his pace which is rarely seen among the Indian pacers, since then he played for India A in South Africa against South Africa A where he was unable to do good with the red ball, then he played domestic matched And didn't performed as expected. Franchise will be hoping that he continues his form from the last season and took a lot of wickets with the help of his pace. 



Hyderabad have got a really good squad this year consisting of really good Indian uncapped and Indian capped players with really good bunch of overseas players, they will hope their players perform consistently and help the team reach the playoffs and win the tournament for the second time.

 Lucknow Super Giants is the news team in the IPL, it was bought by rpsg Rajiv Goenka Group for a whopping 7000cr. They had option to choose Any of the Lucknow or Ahmadabad based franchise, they chosed Lucknow as their company work has been based in Uttar Pradesh.
